Life with us

As soon as Adam comes home from work, he picks up the gal for some daddy-daughter time. Here he is looking all snazzy in his company shirt with a pile of spit up on his shoulder. Greta is just helping him tie up some loose ends from the day. This work computer is so cool. You can flip the screen around and write on it as a tablet. Then, later in the evening, if we don't have something going on, we like to take a walk. It might be the normal loop through the neighborhood or a trip to the grocery store across the street to get the final ingredient for dinner. We have been loving this cooler weather. One fun thing for me has been new outfits for Greta. I got this Baby Gap outfit at a city-wide annual consignment sale in Raleigh. It was just the vest and the pants and the hat is borrowed from Bennett. Thanks B! She looks like a true AK girl with that vest on! Let's go already! She's not quite big enough for this stroller yet, but it does the job. You can see that the straps are all over her, but she just loves to suck on her shoulder pad. Sometimes Adam will carry her around in the Bjorn too which she loves.
Our pretty little girlUsually, on the weekends, we like to get out and about a little bit more. Last weekend, we went to Southpoint mall and just walked around the outside stores. We topped off the evening with dessert from Hayes Barton Eatery in downtown Raleigh. It is our absolute favorite place in Raleigh for desserts and we highly recommend it to anyone who lives here. A slice of cake is 7.00 which will definitely feed two. They have a variety of flavorts including tirimisu, chocolate peanut butter, s'mores, etc...

We LOVE Hayes Barton Eatery! We used to go there all the time when we were dating/engaged. (It's not the most child-friendly place.)

I still have Nick pick up desserts there sometimes...they have a banana dessert that I love (weird, I know) and a strawberry cobbler that tastes like manna from heaven. (Not that I know what manna tastes like but I can imagine...)

So glad you guys discovered it too!

Enjoy her.... it goes by WAY too fast. I'm on my 3rd child and have no idea where the time has gone. My youngest, Lucas, is now 4 months old.
Congrats again and you look beautiful as well-- what's your secret? Take care!

Greta is so precious. In the first picture of she and Adam, I think she looks just like the little Gerber baby. She is such a beautiful little baby.

Ha! That's too funny Christy. She's gotten the Gerber baby look-alike comment before. I really do see a resemblance. I need to remember that for a future blog post...
