Labor Day Weekend- Wilmington, NC

Here our some pics from our Labor Day weekend where, as you can see, we did anything but labor! Adam and I left for Wilmington Saturday morning and pulled into the state campground at noon. God was so good to us as we pulled in because we ended up snagging the last available camp site. We pitched our tent and headed off to the beach. We had to be back by 8:00 pm (which was funny that we had a curfew- it was like we were at LU again!) Otherwise, they lock up and you have to park outside the campground and walk in. Camping is always so different here than AK, because of two reasons. #1. it's dark here #2. it's hot here. I bought Adam a battery operated fan to plant right in front of his face as he slept. We played Skip Bo in the dark under the light of Adam's head lamp for like an hour and then I made a fire out of our pizza box and pine cones. Needless to say, it lasted about 5 minutes. The next morning we went to Port City Baptist Church and really enjoyed hearing the word from the pastor there. D&D met up with us later that afternoon and we stayed at a hotel the next night in downtown Wilmington. We went to the beach a couple more times with them and had a blast. Monday was SO incredibly windy at the beach, we were getting pelted left and right with the sand. I bought a boogie board at Sally's, but every time I would try to swim out further, I would get swept 10 feet down wind. We got some sun otherwise and all in all it was a fantastic weekend!
