IKEA

The big news around here recently has been the grand opening of IKEA I've never been to an IKEA before, but I'm a sucker for grand openings and giveaways. In high school, I was on the news for the grand opening of GAP, the first for AK. Then, about a year later a big movie theater opened up in Anchorage and was giving out free hot dogs. You better believe I was there. IKEA had free armchairs for the first bunch of people who were crazy enough to camp out the night before in the pouring rain. That wasn't for us, but we were there on time.

We pulled up to this at 9:00 that morning. Right when it opened.

I unloaded the kids and had them in the double stroller with Greta in a raincoat and the canopy up to protect them from the rain. As I made my way to the back of the winding line, this employee calls me out and takes me directly inside the store so I don't get "tangled up in line with the stroller." Yahoo!! No waiting in the rain for us!!

Way to work your magic kids!

This was all the commotion we heard once we got inside. It was so exciting and I have no idea why! I think the guy at the end of the video thinks I'm taking his picture.

Lovely ladies dressed like this all around the store.

Both Greta and Will got a heart pillow with hands. Greta likes to hug her "peeyo".

I got a free houseplant and a cute little girl that was on sale. :) Once we got home I put her in the giant IKEA bag I had and carried her around while I held Will in my arms. She loved it!

She fits just like Bernie in the Safeway bag hanging on the french door. So cute. Love, Mom

Oh Nat,
Such a cute post. I love the pic of Greta in the blue bag. Did they make you pay for that bag?? They usually don't let you take it home unless you want to pay $3 for it or something.

I thought I had seen in the paper the bag was going to be 50 cents, but that's just what they sent me home with to carry my stuff in. Free for me!

also, a little idea for the future... if you can get one of your kids or another willing person to sit in a wheel chair, you'll go to the front of the ride lines at disney world... just an idea....since the stroller thing worked out so well for you! lol!

I love Ikea - thanks for the cute post Nat! I was cracking up at the guy in the video - he does look a little nervous that you are snapping him!

I love IKEA! We don't have one that close, but it is definitely worth the day trip to PA to go. I LOVE IT! Ya know, there's just one more reason to make Charlotte along the way to any southern vacation we may have
