Chris and Kristen to the rescue! Thanks to the McCutchen's for letting us use their old computer! This is a no-picture post, but I thought about writing some funny stories about Greta before I forget.
Greta is 17 months old tomorrow and is hilariously dramatic with her phrases and sayings. Yesterday she was in the shower with Adam and slipped and fell. Even though she was not hurt, she started crying and said, "Ohhhh MAN!" (pronounced "Oh Mayne!")
For the most part she loves Will and has adjusted very well to a new baby in the house. The times that I see her act up the most is when I am holding him. She will go over to the plant, point to it and babble on about it to me. I remind her that we don't pull on the plant and that it is a no-no. What does she do? Pull on the plant. Then, she gravitates over to the tv and puts her fingers up to the buttons and looks at me. I say, "That's right Greta. That's a no-no too." What does she do? Start pressing the buttons. Normally, she knows she gets a spanking for this so almost automatically after I say it's a no-no she starts hitting herself in the head. We have no idea why she does this, but it seems like she is really bummed out about her sin nature and feels the need to punish herself in this way. Funny, but sad.
She throws her sippy cup across the room and exclaims, "UH-ohhhh!"
Her new face is turning her nose up at everything. It's the face you make when you smell something stinky. She does this all the time even when she's not disgusted. She'll want to show me a toy, walk up to me and turns up her nose as if she's asking, "You don't really want to play with this do you?"
We have the pack-n-play up in the living room for easy diaper changes and a safe haven for Will. :) Next to the pack-n-play it is typical to see a little stack of dirty diapers waiting to walk the plank across the living room and be thrown away. Yesterday, Greta took it upon herself to do her "chores", collect the diapers and walk them one by one to the trashcan. Good girl!
She is a total monkey and has discovered her love for climbing recently. Our endtables have become her ladder to the couch. Even though she can get up on the couch without a prop, she likes the challenge of climbing on the teeny tiny endtable first. She reminds me on a circus elephant balancing on a ball. Our dining room chairs have also become her gateway to the table. Today I found her standing on the table. My mom says I was a climber and my grandma says my mom was a climber. I guess it's in her genes.
