Homecomings

Friday, October 17th was Will's home coming. It was a good day. At the ripe old age of 2 days. Isn't he precious?

Here's a better look in case your answer was no. That'll change your mind. :) There's just something good that comes out of jaundice by giving newborns such great skin tone.

My mom was just 2 days shy of being there for the birth, which she and I were bummed about, but she was there for the day we went home. That's when you need the most help anyway. Am I right ladies? I somehow managed to delete the picture of her dressing Will, but those are her hands anyway.

Me and my son
Greta was taking a nap over at Aunt Danielle's and Uncle Dan's so this is our happy little family minus the Greta girl.
A little wreath fairy hung this on the door when we got home. I made this wreath for Allison 2 years ago when she had Elijah. Little did I know I'd end up getting it back! It says on the star, "It's a Boy!"
October 25th was also a good day. First, it was my 26th birthday. Second, it was LU's Homecoming. Yes, we are those alumni nerds that love to go back to visit our old stomping grounds. Of course, we have good reason.
#1 reason: We got to see Dan sing for convo. That was a great reason.
#2: We saw plenty of out of town family and all of the cousins who are students at LU now, aka Dan's fan club.
#3: It would not be a trip to Lynchburg without seeing our buddies Jack, Jay and Lydia. We love our friends, aka Dan's fan club.
We love our Papa Ward.
We love Papa no matter what, but one thing that you never get used to yet always appreciate is his giving giving most generous spirit. Here he is practically buying out the Liberty's bookstore. Purchase of the day? Whatever the grandkids wanted.
Leigh Anna and bundle of joy.
Adam and I went out like two crazy college kids and hung out at the hockey game with all of the cousins. It was way past my bedtime, but fun none the less.
My mom offered to baby-sit which we happily took her up on. Will loves his Keeks already.
As I was packing for the trip, I had the best idea of what to pack for staying overnight in a hotel with children. All you need is a sheet and a roll of duct tape. No, I was not planning on committing any kidnappings with my supplies, it made Greta's bedroom for the night!
And while she got "used" to her surroundings, Mom, Will and I hung out in the bathroom for 45 minutes! She wasn't crying, just awake and I didn't want her to stay that way so we just kept the lights off and hung out in the bathroom for a while. It worked like a charm!
On Saturday, we got to see our old buddy, Katie. She was Bridgette's roommate at Liberty and was a bridesmaid in her wedding. Long time bud of the Kale fam. It was great seeing you Kate!
Saturday, everyone was so sweet to take part of a birthday party I threw for myself. Sike. Actually, Mom Renstrom made a cookie cake for me which I was very excited about. Adam and his parents went in together and bought me a GPS so I don't get lost when we move to Charlotte. You have no idea how many lives will be saved because of that device. My mom bought me the most expensive mani-pedi known to man. The lady would slap some salt scrub on my leg and ask, "You want salt scrub?" Well sure, that sounds great! Especially since it's coveniently already on my leg. "Okay," she says, "that'll be 5 dollars." Then, she says, "I'll do a french manicure. It'll make your nails look longer." If you say so! Sounds great! "That'll be 10 dollars extra." Wow, I was just getting sucker punched left and right and falling for it every time! Luckily, my mom was falling for the same gimmicks so it didn't make me look as greedy. :)
Mama and Papa with their new baby great-grandson.

The whole gang, or at least what was left of them by the time we hit the road.

I loved all those pictures!! Greta and Will are definitely missed by me "somethin fierce". I thought that sounded like a southern drawl. I love and miss you all. Mom

I am wondering if Will is taking the last picture as he is MIA from the group. I love his little outfits!!
