Necessary?

You may think after looking at this picture that I am somewhat of a drama queen. Well, you could be right in some instances, but in this case you are wrong. Adam has the tendency to prove his male ego that he is the strongest person in the house by tightening soda bottle lids so not one teeny tiny itsy bitsy bubble of carbonation would ever think to imagine life outside the bottle. When I got thirsty one day I literally was giving myself rugburn attempting to unscrew the bottle cap. As I was explaining this to some girlfriends it was quite interesting to see the commonality amongst some of our male counterparts. Ever experience this before? By the way, the pliers worked, but you have to get some big ones because needle nose pliers wouldn't fit around the cap. FYI for the next time this happens to you.

That's hilarious. I feel your pain!

I didn't know you could keep soda from going flat. I just drink it however...

If that had been a Dr. Pepper, I think I would have just stabbed a hole in the side with the nearest sharp object and drank out of it like a water fountain.

Bridge and Gretch: You have completely missed the point. Who cares if the soda stays carbonated if you can never drink it anyway? :) We have soda go flat all the time, but it takes a while.

Em: The countertop is the cheapest one you can find in slabs at home depot or Lowe's. They are like 50 bucks a slab. I know it's called travertine something... It's already mostly pre-cut and ready to install.
