We had a wonderful trip to AK and kept busy busy hanging out with family and friends. It's hard to go up there and try to do all of your favorite things within a week's time! Here are some of the fun things we did.
visited Grandma Kale
had lunch over at Barbara's, my aunt.
visited with my Uncle Dirk, cousin Carsten over at my Grandma Batten's house. (Notice Carsten. He loved to pet Greta. )
Grandma with her 4 great-grandkids
Grandma Kale with her 16 great-grandkids. Brooklyn, the second to the youngest (Greta is the 3rd youngest) went home before this picture was taken.
Gretchen and Phil are adding to the bunch this August! They are expecting #2 and announced it to us over the week at Christmas.
Here's Brooklyn, one of the youngest great-grandkids being held by the oldest, Caitlyn.
Jessica, Caitlyn's mom and my cousin, holding Greta.
One of my favorite things about Christmas at Grandma Kale's is all of the gifts are homemade. Bridge and I made candles out of antique teacups for everyone and I came home with jams, tea and soup mixes, herbs, etc. My Grandma is holding a cutting board that Phil actually made for everyone. He did an awesome job.
My grandma let all of us girl cousins pick out a quilt that we liked. She still has to finish them, but I chose a multi-colored one. They look more homey to me and the less matching, the better. :)
My sweet girl was pretty sleepy this day recovering from the flu so her dad and I happily held her all day through the festivities.
My Aunt Ramona croched this adorable hat and a matching sweater for Greta. Thanks Ramona!
Grandma and Ange planting a big one on Bernie.
Levi would crack me up getting up and down on this chair using the stool. Here he is proud as a peacock after making it to the top.
One day we decided to take the kids "sledding" out in the yard. It consisted of pulling the kids around the driveway on a boogie board and one sled that had a pile of leaves frozen inside.

Greta and her best friend for the week. My mom gave her a biter biscuit and pretty much whatever else she wanted for that matter. :)
game night at Gretch's with Stef and the rest of the cousins.

Glad Adam had some veteran snow-machiners around when he bottomed out in the creek bank. As for the picture of you and Bridget jumping in the snow...are you sure there's not a trampoline under there? Not that I'm implying you both couldn't get that much air :)
that was a good time we had with you guys...I wished we lived closer together! I don't think I'll ever forget digging a 45minute 12 foot tunnel to adams snowmobile...that was a solid memory :)
WHat great pictures, NAtalie! Ive been waiting on you girls to fill us all in! Looks like you had a great time. I LOVE that you guys make gifts for each other. What a good idea! Glad to see that Adam made it out alive! Happy New year!
I loved all the pictures Natalie. Great snow pictures and my favorite action shot is the one with you and Bridgette jumping. Seems to be very quiet around the house now without all of you here. Love and miss you all. Mom
