Craft Projects

So I've been tapping into my inner Martha the past couple weeks and I thought I'd show you the results....I've been in need of a jewelry holder and I found this idea in a magazine. I just bought a plain wooden plaque on sale at Michael's, painted it and then attached the spoons. I bought the spoons at a thrift store down the street and tried to find antique looking silver ones. Then Adam drilled some holes in the handles for me and I just nailed them in! The only idea that was my own was keeping two spoons face up to hold rings and earrings also. The next project came today with a bird on a branch that I ordered from uppercase living . I already had the window pane that I bought from a garage sale 3 years ago and painted it, but wanted to do something with it before I hung it up in Greta's room. When I saw this art, I thought it'd be perfect for her room! Since we hung it above the changing table I had Adam screw it in with the 4 biggest bolts we could find. The other day Bennett came over to play and I had made these hats and tutu's ahead of time with photo-op in mind. The tutu's were made from a no-sew pattern that I found online. Then, I found cute fabric and just kind of went to town on the sewing machine for the hats. Now, mind you, I've never really sewn on a machine before so the stitching looks like junk, but oh well. I thought my models pulled them off really well. :)
Bennett, literally pulling it off. :)
Thank you, I'll take that.

Okay, so my photo-op didn't quite go as planned, but they still look cute huh?

I love the jewlery holder...very creative & the scene behind the window is great! Poor Greta was attacked! I think Bennet liked Greta's hat better than her own.

Natalie...I love all the ideas, the spoon rack, window pane, (esp. this idea) and of course, Shugie with her tutu and hat outfit with her cousin. It's great what you can do with a little bit of stuff and alot of imagination and creativity. Love you, Mom
