Bama Baby

5 observations while spending the weekend in Alabama:

1. Great Aunt Franny next to me at dinner was talking about driving her dune buggy down to the catfish pond on her property. She's in her 70's.

2. Uncle Scott while preaching said, "ol and water don't mix." I looked to Adam who gave me a quick translation of "oil and water don't mix". Took me a second there. :)

3. At the potluck after church, the two drink selections were sweet tea and unsweet tea.

4. There was a potluck after church.

5. From Tuscaloosa to Birmingham (and farther than that, but that's just where we were), Alabama shirts are proudly displayed everywhere. Roll Tide!

Saturday morning we woke up in Mama and Papa Ward's apartment there on campus. Does Greta look a little tired? Perhaps it had something to do with the drunk guy outside in his car who fell asleep on his car horn for 5 minutes at 5:30 in the morning. And again at 6.........
Before we left for the day, proper introductions were made. Greta, meet Bear. Then we went to the walk of champions where Greta got her picture taken with some football players below. Then we walked around and got some Bama gear. Greta just hung on to her stroller like this. It was so cute. She was a hit around town with her little outfit on.Adam and I at the game. Grandma Ward watched Greta so she would be able to take her naps. Thanks Grandma! Our view was spectacular from Papa Ward's seats. This is the only way I like to watch football.Cousins Seth and DavidCheck out Greta's new jersey! not the state, the shirt. :) I'm hilarious.Mama and Papa Ward with Greta and John DavidThese two are best buds after hanging out during the game together. Mama Ward struggled to give Greta a bottle, but she would not have it. I had to come back during half time to feed her. If you have any suggestions or tricks that work for her to take a bottle, let me know!John David, David and AdamThis was cute. At one time during the potluck we kept trying to get John David to give Greta some hugs and kisses but he was a little shy. Then, his buddy, after seeing that John David wasn't going to do anything, dove right in and gave Greta a big kiss. Only after seeing his friend did John David lean in and give Greta a hug. :)After church, we spent the afternoon and the Gossett's and Mama and Papa Ward's beautiful homes. They share a backyard and we put Greta in the swing hanging from the tree. Aunt Sandra was so sweet to block the sun for Greta and lift her chin up so she could see over the edge.Hmmmm... obviously I am not that sweet. :) No wonder she's not looking up! Sorry Gret! Posing next to Mama Ward's beautiful fall planter she made that she saw in a magazine. Great job!

All in a hard days work. This is Mama Ward restin' and relaxin' out on her patio in front of their cute little home. Thanks for a great stay!

Sounds like so much fun - wish we could have been there!! (Nat, have you tried other bottles? A different shaped bottle nipple might help...)

Haha the New Jersey jokes. GOOD ONE. You are such a hoot.

And so for some reason the picture of G with Mama Ward...Greta's face looks like one I've seen Meghan make a lot and it made me laugh really hard. I don't know why. Haha.

Anywho, your little girl is absolutely beautiful! You aren't so bad lookin' yourself mamacita :)
Miss you Nat!! We have to hang out when I get back. Maybe we can introduce Greta to the wonderfulness that is Caribou...

:)

i heart the jumper that Greta is wearing. Even though that is the wrong shirt with it!!:) I miss my girl already. Thanks for all of the great pics. Love, Auntie B

ps, chad says for Adam "in the words of Mike Price, Roll Tide" ....whatever that means.

What great pics! Glad to see our granddaughter is being raised in the Bama tradition! I know Grandma and Papa Ward enjoyed having you all for the weekend - showing you off to Alabama and their favorite state, ballteam and now their new church family! Greta's really growing. Can't wait to see her. I think it's appropriate that Greta's getting so much football indoctrination - with Adam as her dad it's got to be gen... gen... genetic!

I love that you have already taken her to a football game! Its a must..even with little girls...but be ready...Kenna asked me yesterday if she could play football next year since she will be 7. Hmmm...some how she didnt notice that they were all boys out there playing!
