Spas, Family and Easter Eggs

Easter weekend proved to be a fun-filled 3 days. Early Friday morning my aunts Debbie and Ramona and Grandma Kale flew in from AK to stay with us till Monday. My Friday morning began with a mothers massage at a local spa here in town. It was a surprise gift certificate from sweet Adam during my first trimester and I am so glad I saved it till now. With my ribs and back in daily pain, this was quite the treat! Sipping on my lemon tea and eating fresh red grapes in the lounge, not to mention the massage itself- it was a wonderful start to a busy weekend.

First stop: Duke Gardens

Quite the nature lovers, all weekend they'd point out interesting

Next stop: We went garage saleing, to the Flea Market, Farmer's Market and home. We all found great scores garage saleing including a sterling silver aquamarine ring that I found for 10 cents! Angie and Bernie met up with us for the Farmer's Market and stayed with us till Sunday evening.

When we got home, Ramona made us all "Joe's Special"Then we dyed Easter eggsand played Skip Bo while we waited for the final results. Take note of Debbie's "bolero tie" she was so proud of. :)

I discovered this new way of dying Easter eggs on marthastewart.com. It's boiling eggs with a silk tie wrapped around them to imprint the pattern onto the egg. We were pretty impressed with how they turned out!
We also dyed them old school too with just some good ol' fashioned food coloring. I had planned on making deviled eggs the next day for Sunday's Easter lunch, but no one would let me crack the eggs because they were all so proud of them!

I think it's just basically ground beef, garlic, onions and spinach. Quite tasty. Gary used to order it years ago at an old 4th avenue diner I guess....

What a fun Easter! It looks like you were quite the hostess between your creative "Tie" dyed easter eggs ( you get it, cheesy) and all the activities around town! I love all the pictures!

Love ya,

Lins
