Happy Birthday Adam!

Another birthday boy to add to the list...Adam's was on Thursday! We have celebrated his 24th b-day with a week full of festivities. They're not over yet, but I'll share with you what we've done so far. Every day I have a box for him to open with a little red card inside that has a funny little poem and the activity I have planned for the day. On Thursay, we went to the NHL Hurricanes game. The poem read:
"Get you rain jacket
Get your umbrella
A hurricane is coming
to wish a very sweet fella
A Happy 24th Birthday!"

Friday's activity was kayak rolling. This card read:
"I know you like to roll with the tide
but Bama's not the only tide to take pride
Get your boat and your swimmies too
Because tonight we're going to learn something new!"
Every Friday night during the winter at this park in Raleigh, they have an indoor swimming pool that you can go kayaking in. We rented kayaks when we got there and didn't have a clue what we were doing. We know how to kayak, but the rolling part is a whole different story. Anyway, after snorting chlorine water one too many times and Adam saving my life more than once, our new friend Woody gave us some helpful tips. We had a blast! I didn't get any pictures of the night, but Adam came across Woody's picture on this kayaking website that he told us about.

So, I figure if we stick with Woody, he'll teach us the ropes and we'll be pro's in no time!

Saturday, we did rock climbing. Adam's poem read:

Last night we did the roll, Today we'll do the rock. Dan can sing, 'I'm climbing my mountain...' As we climb all the way to the top!
