My dad left last night (Christmas day) for Iraq. What a sweet time we had with our whole family the two days we had together leading up to his departure. Adam and I are so glad we have the opportunity to come hang out up here and be with everyone. My dad will be gone for four months. Praise God it isn't longer (compared to other soldiers)! It definately puts into perspective of praying for our troops when this makes it all the more personal. There is a peace in our family that God is faithful and will protect our dad and there is a peace that God is faithful is something else should happen. We are so proud of him. Please pray for him as you pray for other troops in the War in Iraq. It's not hooked up yet, but my dad bought this tiny tiny camera to hook up to his helmet and have a "Bernie cam" to show a day of life in Iraq.
Poor dad packed all day. He had a ton of gear he had to take with him.

God be with you dad. One day the history books will say that Christians came to free Moslems from tyrants.
